new to this salt water tanks

Hi I currently set up a tank last week.. i already have done a few things wrong. but, pratice makes perfact. I have a 32 gallon tank, I have a hermit crab,shrimp, and 4 damsels. and a chocolate chip star fish.

Does anyone know why my star fish is hanging out the top of the tank!

Welcome! Practice does make perfect, but research saves you from bad experiences! Are you going to keep it a FOWLR tank or going w/ a reef? I'd imagine if you wanted to add anymore fish that weren't aggressive they would be picked on maybe to the point of death (b/c damsels can be very aggressive!).

Your tank is cycled right? What are your parameters? Also any other info you can give us about your tank will help. Amount of LR LS, skimmer or not ect.
