I need a help! I cannot get my betta's tank ph right.. Whenever I cleaned out his tank the other day I let it sit out for atleast 24 hrs.. Whenever I checked it the next day the ph was perfect.. Last night I poured some water with of course the water softner and let it sit less than 24 hours.. checked it today and it is so alkaline! He is swimming in it right now.. I do not want to make him sick with all this fluctuation.. Also, one more thing, I am going to my mother in laws for about a week. I have a bowl for him that I am going to put him in but I want to keep the ph good so if I can get some advice or if I am doing something wrong please let me know..

Welcome to AA!

What kind of differences are you having in pH? Why are you using water softener? I would just use tap water with some dechlorinator for tank water and water changes.....that way the pH should stay close to the same.
