Aquarium Advice Freak
Hi, everyone. I'm new to this forum because I inherited a fully cycled 26 gallon FOWLR tank a week ago and it's already been a roller coaster of a ride (see sick forum)! I have a few of questions and I think they're mostly equipment related so I'm posting here.
I'll start with my most embarrasing question. How can I tell if my one live rock is actually alive?
Secondly, the tank is set up with a filter, a protein skimmer, and an airstone. Don't I need a power head? If I add more live rock, do I still need the filter?
Lastly, if I wanted to invest in a larger tank (budget constraints would only allow for a 46 G), how would I go about converting? I've searched this forum and can't find any advice. Can I simply mix 20G of new water and move everything from the old tank into the new tank?
Thanks in advance!
Edited: I thought of one more question. My 26 gallon tank has a lyretail wrasse and an eel. Aren't they totally wrong for this tank size? Would a fish store take them back? Can you ever get store credit for that? Thanks!
