nitrate nitrite and ammonia?

my tank is a few days Into the fishes cycle I'll be keeping the tank understocked.


nitrate nitrit and ammonia? What do they all do and what levels should I have them at?

Is it true that I'm meant to have low nitrate a small amount of nitrite and no ammonia?
