So my tank is about 4 months old. I added plants about 1 month ago. I got BBA outbreak so I double dosed excel and got some algae eaters 4 days a go.

Now I am having a problem getting my nitrites to be gone. Never had a problem with them since cycling.

Does this mean it is time to change some media in my eheim canister?

No, don't change the media. The nitrite-oxidizing bacteria, Nitrobacter, in your filter died off a bit and need to come back. They are working on it now and growing on the media in your filter. You can either do water changes or add Prime at 5x the normal dose (once every 24 hours) to de-toxify nitrite.
