Odd Sand

Um lol i was cleaning my glass with one of them magnetic things one side
is in the water and one is out well some of the moon sand kinda stuck to the
magnet lol whats this stuff made of?

There is a sand blasting medium, that looks very much like TMS, that is made from iron slag. Possibly, they are one in the same. There definitely must be iron in the sand for the magnet to attarct it.

oooooo ok then all i know is i bought the sand at petsmart
is the iron ok for fish?
guess so or they wouldent be using it i hope lol

I wouldn't assume that what petsmart uses is healthy for fish. They aren't incredibly bright when it comes to these sort of things. But if your tank has been running for a while and your fish are fine, I wouldn't worry about it.

CaribSea makes EcoComplete. Probably the most popular planted tank substrate there is. I think they know what they are doing so you should be fine

that is the same sand that i use (white in color). It has been in my two 20g since they were set up, and everything is fine. I wouldn't worry about it.
