Old tank needs new toppers

I have a 55 gallon that is at least 20 years old. Its still in great shape except the hood which doesn't seem like its ever fit right (tight to edges) and the top is made of 2 pieces not one, with one four foot florecent over top. I would like to purchase an updated decent top for this tank. Anyone know of any good, not extremely over priced retailer, that I may find one at? Or even a good idea as to how to make one that will better display the lighting /fish? Thank you for replies in advance.

Look around your area for shop that makes and/or repairs tanks they should be able to either repolish yours or replace it reasonablely.
The other choice is search online or at your LFS
