Pest on my monti

Ive picked this piece up from my lfs for real cheap as its bleaching due to them not acclimating it properly to led however i noticed theres a lump in the middle of the bleached part ive had regrowth in the past 3 weeks but can anyone tell me what it is on my coral you can just see his little white head out he lets of a string of something toxin maybe? Help please

Vermetid snails. They can kill colonies of sps easily. They shoot out webs to filter feed, which is what irritates the sps. I have them on my trumpet coral and do annoy them some, but not as badly as sps.

Ok thanks i have cut it off now so hopefully my monti will recover.

I don't know that they kill sps easily, but they stress it. I have some and they don't kill anything. I have read that they can slow growth however.

Vermetid snails are bad for stony corals, coral crabs keep em in check
