So super new beginner here

Not 100% sure how these appeared, although i'd assume it was from some plants I ordered online and didn't do anything to kill possible eggs on them.

From what I can google i'd guess they're seed shrimp(Ostracod)? but I wanted to make extra sure they weren't something harmful to my tank so I thought i'd ask.

Please educate me :thanks:

I am referring to all the small tan bug-like things on the glass, for how microscopic they are that's about the best picture i'm gonna get. A quick google search of seed shrimp shows similar images to what mine shows.

If thy are seed shrimp

If thy are those tiny bugs then I would think either are helpful decomposers 1 or number 2
Parasites since I don't know much about seed shrimp pls tell us about them in this thread I'm sure others would like to know!

It is hard to tell. The little specs though are most likely either seed shrimp or copepods. Both are harmless and good fish snacks. When you watch them do they hop/jump/swim a little erratically? Copepods are very jumpy!

Yes! They seem to enjoy taking short swims off the glass and then back onto it. I even see them munching on the Marimo moss balls sometimes.

Good to know, thank you very much!
