Planted tank lighting

Looking to set up an Amazon biotope planted aquarium in a 55 gallon aquarium I've had in the attic for the last few years, and I believe the stock lighting wouldn't be enough for sufficient plant growth. Is there anyone that sells a lighting upgrade that will fit the standard hood, or does anyone know of anyone that can step mine up a bit?

Also, I'm on a very tight budget, so a full-scale replacement lighting rig is out of the picture at the moment...
