Hello so I'm new to the hobby all together but I'm getting It Because I want to go into marine biology. Anyway, I bought some plant bulbs from petsmart the other day. They included 1 water lily, 1 water onion and 2 aponogentons. What I did was just put them a little ways down in the gravel. Enough where you could still see the bulb kinda. Some are sprouting but others not as much. Is this normal, I'm not familiar with aquatic plants. Any tips or advice please.

Yeah, it's normal. Sound like you planted them correctly. Different plants have different growth times, and sometimes they don't grow at all.
