Hi John

I have live plants in my tank whilst cycling and they seem to be doing ok. The only thing I would mention, is that my Christmas moss doesn't like the 80d temp. I was seriously expecting things to look a bit of a mess whilst cycling but other than some trimming to do, I'm suprised!

Plants and Tank Cycling

Hello john...

Plants are recommended for a cycling tank. Plants, especially the floating kinds like Hornwort are natural water filters. They'll use the forms of nitrogen that come from the fish waste and help keep the water conditions a bit better for the fish during the cycling process.
