Platie ate my Cardinal?

I notice something sticking out of my Platies month but didn`t see what it was. It looked like the tail of a FISH!!!
One of the cardinals is missing. Did he eat it? Is this possible? Ihave 15 more :(
 
It is possible, but it is more likely the cardinal had died first and the platies started to pick at it.
 
I'd be inclined to agree with Rich on this one. A fish that dies is quite often picked apart by the tankmates, even when they wouldn't have touched it otherwise. Platies aren't aggressive in nature so I don't think it would have attacked and eaten your cardinal.
 
Yes I have seen a Swordtail eating a dead neon.. Sorry if I implied that it had to be alive to be eaten by a platy, I just meant that if it will fit in their mouth they'll eat it (Live it will move to fast and platy's aren't interested in chasing a meal)
