having just moved my java moss i noticed a couple of fry.....then to my amazment saw my platy dropping another........she has been hanging around the java moss for 2 days or so....do they give birth to all the fry at once or is it a staggered process...?

Well yes it can take time for them to give birth but it isn't like the platy will give some babies now and a week down the road pop out a few more from that batch. Kinda like real labor, the labor has started and there is no stoping it, but it does take time for the baby to actually be born.
