play sand

Hi all. Going to be starting an 80gallon tank soon and I have read and heard you can use play sand. Just wonder what all thinks and what the pro's and cons are. Way down the road I will be adding coral but for now it would be FOWLS

Just be sure it's a non-silica sand...... if it's silica, you'll be fighting diatoms forever & a day.
