I have a 2.5 Gal sitting around which I used as a creche tank. I'm wondering what others have used their small tanks for?

Bettas? Smallish fish like neons?

iTouch and a battery next to it for perspective.

Not a Betta. They have a 5 gallon minimum.

You could turn that into a shrimp tank. That's what my 3.5 gallon is being turned into when I have the chance.

Yes! I think it would make an excellent FW Shrimp tank... neocaridina species are fascinating to watch, can be very colorful, and would work out great.

There really is only two possible uses for a 2.5g tank.

- shrimp tank, as others have suggested

- hospital tank, if most of your fish are small and you can't spare the room for a bigger one

Think I'll go for the shrimp tank. I have a 20gal breeding tank which I can move the fry in to.

I'll have a look around the forum for suggested layouts and looks for shrimp tanks.

Cheers!
