Protein Skimmer

I am currently cycling a 29 gallon fowlr and wanted to know if I should run a protein skimmer. I have a protein skimmer/filter all in one.

Oh, a Skilter brand?
You don't need to skim when still cycling...there won't be anything to skim out so its kinda pointless.

If it is a Skilter, be warned that I've not heard positive comments on their skimming ability.

I am not happy with my skilter. IMO it has way to many bubbles escaping.

but a microbubble foam sheet/ filter befor it gets to the return pump... that should minimize the microbubbles.

The skilter has one ont it, but it still lets them thru, more than I would like. I just think there are better ones on the market, as I read earlier in posts, you get what you pay for.
