Purple Slimey Algae?

I have purple slimey algae on some of my rock and my Diatom is coming back. Any ideas? My tank has been really unstable lately due to a cycle that occured when i had to change from one tank to another. It was an emergency thing.

Sounds like cyano. It can be close to purple also. I would do some PWC`s every few days for a week or two to get those excessive nutrients down. That would be expected changing over to another tank. Esp if you used the same substrate.

Same idea as Melosu, but also try purchasing some Chemiclean. The stuff works wonders, have used it multiple times over the years for small cyano outbreaks in a fully stocked reef without trouble. Definitely try to keep any excessive nutrients down as well.
