Okay the 20gal fw tank we started back in feb is finally cycled!!!
Readings for the last week are (drumroll please...)

Amm. 0ppm
NitrIte 0ppm
NitrAte >20ppm

YEAH!!!! Four departed fishy friends, a ton of testing, and at LEAST 70 billion gallons of water changed and we're finally good. THANK YOU ALL on this site. You guys are great!!

Congrats!

All you need is one more water change to get those nitrAte levels down under 20 ppm, and you'll be all set for fish.

So yeah, one more PWC to go. :p

And then all of the PWC's at the end of each week...for the lifetime of the tank

Thank you guys. And its been 0ppm 0ppm 0ppm for 5 days now cant wait to add some more little guys soon

All three are 0 ppm, including nitrAtes? I would think that would be unusual, and that typically a cycled tank would have a reading of at least 5+ ppm nitrAtes.

nitrtrates barely show orange less than on the chart but definitely not the yellow for zero. sorry for the indistinction. i'm not taking it for granted and still nervously checking parameters but its holding steady and the fish are healthy and active so...
