I noticed today that my heater (Marineland 50 watt stealth pro) indicator light was flashing from red - green every 5 seconds. What does this mean? I googled it and even wrote the manufacturer even though I'm sure they are too "busy" to send a quick response..

Thanks for the help!

How long have you had the heater? Is it still maintaining temperature in the tank?

It could be a bad indicator, a faulty relay, an error code or just some quirk of the heater. It's hard to tell without more info.

Isn't that the heater under recall? There's pics of one exploding and taking out the side of a 55g (?) tank. I'd pull it and get a replacement ASAP is my best suggestion.

those heaters were recalled months ago. i got a letter from petsmart about it.

Oh wow, I knew there was a recall just didn't know the details.. its in my betta tank, temp is 78-79.. that's ok for a betta right? Heater is set at 80 but obviously that's not working
