whats the best way to safely raise Kh/calcium both are almost undetectable on the scale ,
I would like to get them back up to a good level before I start loosing corals .
I don't think I have ever seen these levels so low .
I have used 2 different test kits.
API = KH almost undetectable
SULIFRET = KH undetectable
API = CALCIUM 80ppm
SALIFERT = CALCIUM 40ppm
I've been reading a few different methods the first one is with baking soda
but it was vaig on amount and over how much time.
I've also read part B can help but it didn't specify how much over amount of time.
This method really didn't make much sense 1QT seltzer water per gal of water this one sounds odd to me .
seltzer has aspartame in it and I don't think that would be good for the system .
The only 3 things I recently done was change out the sand .
done over 100% water change over a weeks time during sand removal.
a salt change always used Kent marine salt to instant ocean reef salt . due to being out of stock .
could the salt change have caused this ?
