After months of preparation we're ready to stock our 150 so I'll take any suggestions on water quality etc.

Because we need to travel for hours to buy the fish we want; (8 cichlids) they will be introduced on the same day which is July 18th

I have two filters, Odyssea 700 cannister with UV (been hooked up for month)

Odyssea 500, this filter has been cycling media outside in an ice chest for months and the amount of Ammonia consumed is amazing. Nitrates have been hard to keep down but I haven't considered them a problem

I intend on bringing it in this Saturday and then adding small amounts of Ammonia to the 150 until fish are introduced

The water in the 150 has been treated twice with eSHa Gastropex (snail killer) so my intention is to do an 80% water change although it may not be necessary.

Any water tests I should make?

Thanks
