I have a 55 gallon fowlr tank and last week I had an outbreak of red algae on the sand under where I feed. I scooped up what u could, did a 10 gallon water change, turned the lights down to 8 hours a day, and dripped the feeding down by half every other day. Today I noticed small patches beginning to grow again. My parameters are:
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 0
Ammonia 0-.5
pH 8.1
What else can I do to slow down the growth. I don't want it to take over my tank
