as anyone seen or own one of these guys? I've seen or heard of them until I got on petco.com today, they were selling them. They are really cool looking, they have the typical molly shape, but instead there yellow and red and patterned like a dalmation mollie, they say they grow to 6.5 inches! thats one big mollie!

You mean like on here? http://www.greenparktropical.com/Fish/molly.htm Its a common colour. I've got a sword that color. All mollies can grow to 6.5 inches given time and proper care. You've never seen a fully-grown adult molly? I have many times. Why do you think I tell people to get rid of them if they only have a 20 gallon tank? Mollies are not a small fish.

I started out with mollys, that was unfortunately in the days of me being a terrible fish keeper with now knowledge at all. I lost them before they got that big. I always thought though that certain varieties got larger than others, and not all of them got that huge. I have seen many huge mollies at pet stores. Mostly sailfin. It's a bit shocking when you're used to seeing the smaller fish.

I have a pair of black mollies in my brackish tank and they are thriving. They are 5" a piece at the moment (same size as my RTBS...!).
