I wanted to start a nano reef grow out tank to keep my frags away from my fish to keep nitrates and phos way down. So how do I go about the cycle process? Is it the same for fish with the couple weeks/ months till your cycle is done or can you just do it right away since corals don't create lots of waste? I just want to know because I don't wanna do a stupid move. Thanks.

Cycle is the same for a nano tank although some people report that they don't see much of a spike in parameters. If this is simply for frags you could do a fishless cycle or do fish in tank cycle and remove it afterwards.

Alright. Thanks. I was wondering because corals don't make alot of waste so wasn't sure it would even do much. I can see you wouldn't need much of a cycle if you have mushrooms or somthing that's basically only photosynthetic
