I have a planted community tank with Tetras and Discus. I use RO water and minerals. I was wondering what should be a healthy TDS reading. With RO water it's zero. Tap water is 200 ppm. What is a healthy reading for community tank?

Thanks for your help.

I would use at least 50% tap. RO leaves nothing in the water, no stability. What are you using to reconstitute it?

Should be ppm. Is what the digital reader reads at. I can take it again. I don't test tap water because I use 100% RO water.

I definitely wouldn't use all RO. 50% tap should be fine and a lot more stable. I wouldn't trust Brightwell's stuff, especially not as the only thing used to reconstitute 100% RO water.

We used half tap and half RO at the shop and the discus were breeding in the sales tanks.

Discus are not the super sensitive fish many make them out to be. They need high quality water, like any fish. But they will breed with alkaline pH.
