I've got a BN myself. I have no algae in the tank, but that could be because the hornwort sucessfuly competes with it for nutrients.

Some rubber lips are voracious enough to remove green spot algae, a feat few others can lay claim to.
my tank is next to a window. It was getting VERY high light suddenly (after winter) and got green algae ALL over the back wall.. I got a baby brown bristle nose (I mean baby less than an inch long and a little more than an 1/8 wide)
I've had him about a month and the wall is CLEAN.
It didn't look like he was making any progress, and all of a sudden 1/2 was clean, a week later it was all gone. He is now an inch long and a 1/4" wide.
