running bio max in a HOB

My EMP 350 has space to run two cartridges per side , so i got the idea of getting a box of bio max and some media bags and putting that where the extra cartridge gos. I got it all to fit and it looks good , has anyone tried this and had success ?

It would be fine, but the biowheels are a better environment for the nitrifying bacteria so that is where they will live.

so your saying i should take box back ? it was twelve bucks , running 4 cartridges might be more useful then

I wouldn't worry about biomax if you already have biowheels.
