sand or gravel

i am just wondering what would be better to use in my malawi tank right now i have natural small gravel in my tank but would it be better and more natural to use sand ??? please inform your feedback will be appreciated

Yes, sand is good for Malawi cichlids.

Alot of Malawi cichlids like to either dig or sift in the substrate....so sand is probably best for them IMO.

Sand. Africans love to dig/sift in it and it's easier to clean and keep clean than gravel.

I tried sand about five years ago and I'll never go back to gravel.

Pool filter sand is the best IMO for cichlids.

what does pool sand look like ??? is it grey or white ???

It's usually a 'natural' sand color. Like a tan. It's very inexpensive too.

I had some in my planted tank and it worked out pretty well.

I redid all of my tanks in PFS and I love it so much more. It's more natural looking.

Cool well i bought some pool filtre sand and i will be doing my 20 and 32 in it ... thanks for all the comments appreciate it
