Seachem Purigen and General Tonic

Do I need to take Seachem Purigen out of my filter if I'm using Interpet's General Tonic?

I would to be sure, Purigen is specifically designed for removing organic wastes out of your tank. Some medications are ionic or inorganic, and others are larger organic molecules which Purigen will remove.
