Does this product work well for fishless cycle? Or should I use the shrimp method for the cycle?

I wouldn't waste your money on this type of product. It may or may not work, but most likely it won't do much for your cycle. I cycled my tank with the shrimp method (well, I used a small piece of beef, which worked just as well) and planted my tank. I got cycled in 3 weeks, which isn't that long of a wait.
