The store said the GBR is a male and the EBR is a female. Reddit is pretty sure the EBR is a female (and so am I) but now i’m questioning if my GBR is also a female. Im attaching some videos on their behavior and the last one is the EBR sleeping and she looks pretty round and gravid in it.. People on reddit think it’s territorial behavior and that they see a pink spot on my GB. they also think they see blue dots in its black circle, along with short 2nd and 3rd dorsal spines. If someone who knows how to sex these guys, please lmk what you think

Due to their behavior and appearance male.

Due to their behavior and black dorsal and pectoral markings. I can instantly tell you they are both male. The aggressive defensive and offensive flailing gives it away instantly. If one was female it would just run until it died or spawned. The male would continue chasing her. These two are sparring in flail. With vast fin markings and aggression on the behalf of both parties.

To accredit my background I am biological scientist, long time hobbyist and multiple aquarium owner for life.

I was thinking that they were both boys too until last night. The german was twitching his head after they had their little dance and then he started digging a little in the sand, but not big enough for a “pit”. They’ve been hanging out near this one rock all day and constantly swim together. They continued to slightly side bump each other very softly a few times. No aggression and no biting or chasing, it was very weird. here’s a video
