Shapeless brown blobs on Devil's Hand

Today an order arrived with, among other things, a little Devil's Hand leather. I hadn't looked at it very closely before putting it in a CoralRx dip. But once in the dip these brown blobs all jammed in between the fingers started reacting. Curling up and falling off. Some held on a bit more, but some swishing and gentle cleaning with pipe cleaner got all off. Now it's in QT for longer term observation. I got a photo of the 'blobs' left behind in the dip. Any idea what they are?

I don't see any evidence that they were damaging the leather, but they sure had a parasitic 'latched on' look to them.
