Shrimp ID - Amanos or Ghost?

Hello,

I purchased six shrimp today, whom I THOUGHT were Amano shrimp. They were in a tank that said "Amano Shrimp - $2.99" and also had a single platy and a tetra of some kind.

I only second guessed myself when the lady helping me at the lfs labeled them as "Ghost Shrimp" on my receipt.

This place only charged 50c for every ghost, so did I just luck out??

Yep, definitely lucky!! Amano shrimp, definitely. Ghosts have a higher arched back and don't have those dots on their sides. They look good! How many did you get?

Awesome! I really thought they were Amanos, I just wanted to make sure haha. I got 6, but maybe I should have gotten more hehe, oh well! What I thought was going to be $18 turned out to be $3

Thank you! They've already been cleaning up my tank for the past 2 hours, I think they've settled in nicely.

Lucky you! I pay $2.99 a piece as well, but they do clean good.

Amano shrimp are $2.99 at new jersey petco chain stores during the fall. They climb to $4.99 in the off season.
