I bought a hydor h2show poseidon and before I put it in my tank I have to ask this silly question:

At the top and bottom on the back there are hard gummy adhesive pieces that attached it to the back of the box. When I pulled it out, some of the cardboard came with it. Not the adhesive is not soft and does not easily come off -- I am having trouble getting it off and I am wondering if it is even supposed to be removed.

There's no way I should put cardboard remnants in the tank, right?

I'm really at a loss to get it off.

Any suggestions?

The adhesive looks like silicone. It would be tank safe. For the cardboard just soak the ornament in a container of water to soften it and give it a bit of a scrub.

Thanks -- I managed to scrape most of it off using a scraper blade in what was probably a very unsafe way!
