Problems with hornwort and goldfish?

Has anyone had any bad experiences with hornwort? I have had a planted tank for a few years now, but I’ve only been using hornwort for about a year. A few months ago, I lost two of my goldfish within days of each other. Tank parameters were normal, and the other fish have been fine. Today, I went to my local pet store to restock aquatic plants, and the store owner voiced some concerns about the hornwort. She said that she wasn’t sure if there was a correlation, but both tanks they had been storing the plants in had an abnormal number of fish loss since they started carrying it. I have not been able to find anything online about hornwort being bad, and I always clean and quarantine plants before putting them in the tank. I am just looking for some more informed opinions.

I've not heard this but Goldfish do eat plants so I wouldn't have them in a planted tank to begin with.
