skimmer for canister

I had a bit of oily looking stuff on the surface of my FW tank and wanted a skimmer. I saw the skimmer for the fluval online for $20 with shipping. I went to Home Depot and made one in 5 minutes and $3.

The PVC is 1". there is a cap on the bottom, a T and a 1 3/4 to 1" reducer at the top. I used an angle grinder to make a sawtooth on the top and some intake holes on the bottom. some sution cups left over from a heater, and push the intake hose into the T. Done.
