Just got a piece of slate from Lowe to anchor my driftwood for my tank. Is there anything I need to do besides rinse it before I put it In my tank?

Rinse real well with hot water. scrub and soak. If anyone wants to add go ahead. I'm also new to this. how to you attach it to the slate? screws right?

nice dude. i love slate. i have red and green slate rocks that i made a cave out of in a 29 gallon and i plan on adding some dwarf cichlids and some sort of loaches. post some pics plz!!!
