recently added 5 snails 2 hermits and one emerald crab to my freshly cycled tank, everyone is enjoying the abundance of the algae that has accumulated over the last weeks except one guy who has not moved. i think he may have left to the big reef in the sky, should i remove him or let someone feed and take over a new housing??? thanks for any advice given!

How did you acclimate them?

Smell the shell (not too close) if it doesn't stink then more then likely it's just chilling and I'd put back into the tank and keep an eye on it. If it does stink then I'd remove and let sit outside for 2-3 weeks, rinse, and then replace back into the tank.

Sometimes that do and sometime they don't. Since it is a new tank, I wouldn't keep him in there. Tey "poking" at him and see if he reacts, sometimes they just "chill" as Micah sated and could be asleep.
