Snail out of water

I have a snail in my tank with no hood...the water level is 4 to 5 inches from top what are the odds he tries to get out and explore

What kind of snail? Apple? I have never had one climb all the way out, but I have had pond snails do it. You never know though.

That's an apple.. they will. Everyone I get wants to "explore" I had a tank by a window before, he dipped right out the 3rd floor. The one I currently have cracked his shell, forcing me to get a glass lid for 12 bucks...he's still alive, but I feel he isn't doing well :^/

I would definitely get a lid.. apple snails will climb out of that tank (and die )

Mine has been out of water for at least an hour...its the drop that can bad I got an amquel glass lid for 12 bucks at my lfs. It has a handle to open the tank, and a piece of plastic that you cut to fit around your gear so its basically completley escape proof

I also have all sorts of shrimp, and never neven had one of these guys get out
