Are snails only good for algee or do they clean other things

From my experience it depends on the snail and the water. Mine gobble up uneaten food just as well as algae. What kind are you looking at

The only ones I think really go after stuff on the bottom IME is the MTS of course, they burrow, and the ramshorns. The nerites and mystery/apple snails seem to really just go after the algea.
