Hello everyone. I've recently encountered a problem with my tank. it's a 21 gallon freshwater and it's being over run by small little snails. i have one apple snail but i don't think that these are his offspring as i didn't see any of its eggs underneath my glass top.

any advice on how to effectively remove these guys without taking my tank apart and sanitizing all my plants. i understand that vacuuming is a must but i don't think that is a long term solution.

thanks

lui

2 Striped (Zebra) loaches is one approach, as they stay small and are cool looking, and are snail busters. They will take care of snail eggs as well.

Another alternative is a leaf of lettuce over night. Then in the morning, remove it with the snails on it. Will take several days, and you still might not get them all.

A 3rd approach, is squish them and let the fish eat them.
