Would any type of snail help with brown algae and tank cleanliness. In terms of stuff building up on surfaces like brown algae does. I like the look of the zebra snail but am open to suggestions....

Snail

Briggs (A sub-species of apple snail) are good algae eaters, also nerite snails are good if you don't want to be overun with snails even if they do eat algae. Ramshorn snails are good as well although some eat plants. I suggest you look around at applesnail.net and see what you can find out.

I have a ton of ramshorns and they really didn't attack the diatoms as I thought they would have. They again, they very rarely go up on the glass, seems they'd rather spend their time hanging on my plants.
