Any idea what this could be guys?

It's only on one of his gills. It's white/grayish and seems to be getting a little bit worse everyday. He is eating and behaving normally aside from small amounts of flashing. I really don't know how to describe it other than that. Any ideas??

Steve

Thanks for the reply Hukit, you're always trustworthy.
The next morning after these pictures were taken, that same greyish stuff had appeared on the other side as well. I'll post some other pictures later today when I get home from work.

Hmmm, let's what those other pictures look like?

Here are some more pictures that I took last night. As you can see, it is on both sides of the Severum now. It's pretty interesting because he isn't acting odd or anything. It's like the stuff is there and he barely notices it..which I guess is a good thing! haha

Just a little something else I noticed..his anus is the same white/greyish color as the gill stuff.

His vent looks normal from the pictures but the growths on the gill plate are hard to see, are they growths or fuzzy like a scrape?

I wouldn't say they look fuzzy, but it does look like some sort of fungus. They don't look like scrapes. I really don't know where to go with this one. What about a broad spectrum treatment?

If your going to treat then I'd recommend Jungles Fungus Clear or Tetra's Fungus Guard(same product) one os available at Wally World and one at Petsmart, this will address potential fungus and some bacterial infections such as Columnaris. I would also drop the temp down to mid 70's to slow the rate of infection. Any questions please ask!

I'm following this because I have a Severum. I haven't seen anything like that on him but I'd like to know if your treatment works just in case I do.

Take Huk's advice and get him started on some antifungals in a hospital/quarantine tank, you don't want to take a chance on it getting worse/spreading. Hopefully it's nothing major, and he'll pull thru in a week or two!
