Hey guys I have had my aquarium for like 1 and a half months now and I can home today and looked in my tank and I saw a small kind of see through bug swimming around. I have shrimp in there and I wasn’t sure if it was a baby because I’d never seen one before but it doesn’t look like it to me. What is it and should I take it out?

Dragonfly nymph. You can just scoop it out. Not sure if he'll eat any baby shrimp but they are carnivorous.

Is this tank inside? do you feed your fish live food from a lake or river? I'm trying to figure out how that nymph go in your tank.

Bugs can get into houses. If the tank has no lid or an opening a dragonfly can easily lay eggs in an aquarium. I found a spider chilling in my betta tank once.

Dragonfly or Damselfly nymphs are a danger to your tank.

They will eat lots of stuff if allowed to stay. They can eat small stuff shrimp and fry. Bad news for an aquarium or fish tub, or pond with small fish for that matter.

Often plants are purchased and sometimes they can come in from plants grown outside or in green houses.

I will now probably have nightmares after seeing these things eat from YT vids.
