Do they sell stands for 5 gallon tanks? Im lookin to upgrade from my 1.5g but want a wood stand to hold supplies.

You can easily find a table at some store like walmart that you can put one on. The tank won't weigh that much

Just because you only use a 5g tank doesn't mean you can't have a larger stand for it. More storage capability, and room for upgrade later. Getting a stand large enough for a 10 or even a 20 or 29g tank I think would look okay.

From your PM, yes the ones from petsmart are fine. I've used them, they're solid and hold up just fine.

A really tall stool with some diy paneling? I'm not too sure really... You could get a modular shelf. It's like 4, 4' long metal rods with shelves you use to stabilize it.

I'd recommend IKEA! Any beside table etc would hold that no problem.
I have my 7 gallon tank on a square 'Lack' table from IKEA, about as basic as you can get!

I have a 5g tank sitting on my kitchen counter. When full, it only weighs 40-50lb.
