String of bubbles? Any ideas?

Does anyone have a clue what this is and should I remove it? Its about an inch long, and looks to be tiny bubbles that are bunched together in a string. The part up top that's kind of knotted up is attached to the glass, and the "tail" kind of flows with the current.
