Sorry, I've been asking a lot of questions lately.

I have a question about stunting. If water parameters are perfect (0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 5-20 nitrates), will a fish whose adult size is not appropriate for the size of the tank still be stunted?

I did some research about this and I read that it actually does stunt the fish's growth. I also read that the fish's growth will slow down or stop but the organs will keep growing which makes the fish look "unnatural". I'm not sure about that but that's just what I read.

So if it's not ammonia or nitrites stunting the fish, then what is it?

yep,no matter how perfect the paramaters are,if the tanks to small the fish will be stunted.

That doesn't make a whole lot of biological sense, if the fish is constantly swimming and has enough oxygen, why wouldn't its muscles develop as normal?

Which causes complications, shortening the fish's life.
