Goodevening to all members, I am new here and will soon introduce myself but I just needed to start an urgent thread on a continuous problem I've been fighting...
Has anyone ever successfully treated columnaris (any strain of it) and eradicated completely from their aquarium with medicines? I would like to know what is most efficient to rid it from any infected fish AND the water column. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Delapool! what kind of antibiotics would help the best to treat both the fish and the water column ? And yes, I live in NY

Furan 2 and kanaplax in combination. May need a second course.

I wouldn’t add any new fish for at least a month.

Keep water temp same or slightly lower to slow down bacterial infection.

Salt, dips, etc, etc can be used to clean up a massive infection but I’ve never had any luck with them by themselves.

Triple sulpha and a medicated antibiotics feed (one of the tetracycline Group or another that escapes me), may also work (what we can get over the counter in Australia) but furan 2 is a newer, better med.
