Sump question

Hi could any advise me on the flow in my sump? Should the water flow over the last baffle to the return pump



or should I have it trickle over like a waterfall so to speak?
I'll post a photo, just want to finish getting all set up before I put my rock etc in.

It can do either but as the water evaporates in the return section it will just trickle over the baffle.
